Many people ask what kind of broadcast equipment we use to produce the Skyfire videos. Skyfire is a division of Camrac Studios, an all digital broadcast quality teleproduction facility. Our Skyfire cameras are on the high end of the spectrum, each one costing over $70,000, not including the lenses. Skyfire programs are shot and edited in the 16X9 wide screen aspect ratio that you'll be seeing in the television sets of the future. This wide screen format can be seen on many of our new DVD releases. Then Skyfire creates digital sub-masters that are converted to the normal 4x3 aspect ratios of today's television sets for VHS tape viewing.

Skyfire Audio is recorded digitaly using our proprietary Skyfire 4-channel surround-sound microphones. These special Skyfire microphones record audio in a complete perfect circle so that you, the Skyfire Customer can hear things which pass behind, in front, and down the sides of the picture in a home theater environment. This sound technology is not available on VHS, but can be heard in many of Skyfire's newer DVD product releases.

Each skyfire program is edited in Skyfire's all digital edit facility, a multi-million dollar computer bay filled with the latest digital broadcast technologies. Some Skyfire visitors say the room looks like the bridge on the Starship Enterprise. Here each Skyfire scene is carefully shaped and enhanced and subjected to special effects to squeeze the most out of every Skyfire story.

Then direct from the Skyfire Digital Master, we make each copy onto a special high-quality VHS stock that was developed for users who play their tapes over and over again. Each Skyfire VHS tape is recorded in the fastest standard play speed to achieve the best resolution and sound clarity.
